During the presentation, you will get a preview of the immersive experiences we have planned and an idea of the different types of photography we will practice. The Enchantment of Hummingbirds
Hummingbirds truly are nature’s jewels. Their feathers shimmer in vibrant colors, and they can hover, dart around, and even fly backward like no other bird. In our presentation, we will explore the various species of hummingbirds you'll see on our tour including the Festive Coquette, the Frilled Coquette and Amethyst Woodstar and many others including non-hummers.
Imagine capturing the dazzling feathers of a Brazilian Rubi hummingbird as it flits from flower to flower! Our tour will get you up close to these magical creatures in their natural environment. We will explore and photograph many endemic and rare species and we'll explore the gems of the Atlantic Rainforest. Each one offers a unique charm and personality that you can document through your lens.

1. Understanding Light
Light is a photographer’s best friend. Capturing images during the golden hours of dawn or the soft hues of twilight can dramatically change your photographs. Our expert guides will provide tips to make the most of natural light while photographing hummingbirds. Of course, nothing is guaranteed. Birds won't pose for us and positioning for the light is very important.
2. Choosing the Right Equipment
What camera and lens should you bring? During our talk, we will discuss essential gear to help you achieve stunning close-ups and clear images of hummingbirds in action. For example, a telephoto lens of at least 300mm can help you take beautiful shots from a distance without disturbing the birds. The right equipment can turn a regular photo into a breathtaking image that captures the essence of these beautiful birds.
