HOW TO BOOK FOR THIS EXTENSION
OVERVIEW
In November 2011, Iguazu Falls were elected one of the Seven Wonders of Nature by the Swiss foundation New7Wonders. Iguazu National Park was the second Brazilian National Park to be created and is located in the middle of a pristine Atlantic Rainforest. Incredibly, it comprises 275 waterfalls on the Iguaçu River, the largest group of waterfalls in the world and located right on the border between Brazil and Argentina. The clouds of mist that rise from the falls provide a fascinating visual spectacle that cannot be missed. The National Parks provide safe haven for many endangered and endemic species, preserving unique flora and fauna. According to the WWF, it is estimated that over 550 species of birds and 120 species of mammals make this area their home. Many of the bird species can be seen from the walkways of the Falls, along the road leading to the Falls and on trails.

Day 1: From Guarulhos International Airport in São Paulo we'll take a domestic flight to Foz do Iguaçu city. Checking at Canzi Hotel and birding around the hotel in the afternoon.

Day 2: Early departure to Puerto Iguazu, Argentina. In the morning we'll visit one of the park's star attractions, The Devil’s Throat waterfall, with a U-shaped cascade of nearly 263 feet and a width of about 2.297 feet. The video above was shot there! This waterfall is one of the largest and most impressive in the world. The deafening roar and dense mist create a unique sensory experience for visitors. In the afternoon visit to the Triple Frontier, a tri-border area that skirts the borders of Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay. The next stop is at Jardin de Picaflores (Hummingbird's Garden), which has great feeders for hummingbirds and it is a great place to see the Blue-naped chlorophonia and the Chestnut-bellied Euphonia.

Day 3: After breakfast we'll visit Iguazu National Park on the Brazilian side and start the morning with a nice walk to the Poço Preto trail (excellent for birding) and in the afternoon we'll visit the Falls Circuit trail. It is the traditional Cataratas Trail that  provides a wide and panoramic view of the largest group of waterfalls in the world. This is also a great time to see birds!.

Day 4:  Check out from the Hotel and transfer to Foz do Iguaçu International Airport.

Some birds we’ll have chance to see during this extension: the Plush-crested jay, the Green-backed Becard, the Band-tailed manakin, the Black-crowned Tityra, the Monk Parakeet, the Gilded Hummingbird, the White-bellied Hummingbird, the Violet-capped Woodnymph, the Black-tailed Tityra, the Wing-barred Piprites, the Black-fronted piping guan, the Red-eyed Vireo, the Toco toucan, the Southern Bristle-Tyrant, the Swallow Tanager and much more!
